Split order feature (Manually)

When an order is created in Eshopbox, it can consist of multiple items. Each item's inventory in the order may vary based on the fulfilment centre location. Additionally, sellers may request to ship some items from one location and the remaining items from another location. This is where the concept of order splitting becomes crucial.
Order splitting plays a pivotal role in efficiently managing and fulfilling complex orders. It enables the system to divide the items within an order and allocate them to the appropriate fulfilment centres based on inventory availability and the seller's preferences. By doing so, Eshopbox ensures that each item in the order is shipped from the most suitable location, optimizing the delivery process and enhancing customer satisfaction.
User Journey-
Login to Eshopbox workspace.
Navigate to orders
You can split the order into new, processing and unfulfillable orders. Once the order is ready to ship, order splitting is not possible.
Click on the take action button > From the dropdown select the” Split order” button.
On clicking this button the popup will open, containing all the items in the order.
Heading - Split order
Description - Select the items that need to be shipped.
POP-UP DETAILS:
Lets us understand this using an example- If an order has 3 items say Shirt, pant , and socks so the popup will show all 3 items.

It will indicate that shirt and pants will be shipped together. Another shipment will be created for socks.
CASE 2) If say the order has 3 items and out of which one order is already updated as ready to ship so the split shipment cant happen for such an order-

If the pants is already marked as ready to ship so note will be shown plus only items eligible for splitting will be shown.
Out of 3 items, 1 item is not eligible for splitting. Learn more.
Package field -
It will be a dropdown.
The same value can be assigned to the multiple-order items
The maximum value in the dropdown will be equal to the of items in the order.
EXAMPLE-Let’s say the order has 3 items so the maximum shipment that will be created is 3.
But if out of 3 items one item is already ready to ship then the maximum value will be 3 for the package value.
HOW TO HANDLE THE CASE WHEN THE ORDER HAS A SINGLE ITEM ?
In such a case the approach of split order is not required.
For such an order >the split order button on take action won't be visible.

On clicking the Split order -
A new order will be created with the line items you chose to split out and an order note will be added to record the split.
You can now treat each order separately. Make any amendments that are necessary, update the order status, and send them for marking order ready to ship.
