Business as Usual (BAU) volume is an important metric Eshopbox will use to deploy resources for your workspace. Business as usual volume may also affect turn around time to complete an activity.
Therefore, it is important to understand BAU to plan your inventory supply and order fulfillment. In this article, you will learn:
How you can determine the BAU for your workspace?
How you can notify Eshopbox about the significant increase in volume?
Determining BAU for your workspace
Determining BAU is important for both Eshopbox as well as for you. This will help Eshopbox in planning the operational flows more efficiently. You can anticipate the BAU for your workspace for:
Activity | How is BAU calculated for the activity?* | Example |
---|---|---|
Receiving | You can determine the BAU for inward consignment by using the historical data of the last 60 business days. Calculate the sum of items received by Eshopbox in the last 60 business days and divide by 60. This will give you the BAU for inward consignment. | In the last 60 days, Eshopbox received 60000 items, BAU will be 1000 items. |
Pick and Pack | You can determine the BAU for orders by using the historical data of the last 60 business days. Calculate the sum of items shipped by Eshopbox. Items shipped will also include number of Sellable items packed for recall consignments created by you. This will give you the BAU for orders. | In the last 60 days, Eshopbox shipped 30000 items. Therefore, BAU will be 1000 items.
|
Returns | You can determine the BAU for returns by using the historical data of the last 60 business days. Calculate the sum of return items received by Eshopbox in the last 60 business days and divide by 60. This will give you the BAU for returns. | In the last 60 days, Eshopbox received 15000 items for your workspace. Therefore, BAU will be 250 items. |
In case historical data is not available, BAU volume for your workspace will be set based on the forecast shared by you. BAU volume may automatically increase or decrease based on the difference between actual volume and forecast shared by you.
We understand that there may be instances when you are expecting a significant increase in processing volume. It may be because of the new product launch, upcoming flash sales, a huge marketing campaign, or if you know if you will be featured in media, you should notify Eshopbox in advance. Of course, we will fulfill your orders regardless; the more information we have, the better we can plan resources allocation. Without proper notification in advance, we may not be able to fulfill your orders within our normal service levels.
