How to configure shipping fees for Amazon?

Amazon charges a shipping fee for each order delivered to the customer using Amazon shipping. This fee is calculated based on the shipment weight, shipping destination, mode of shipping and your business model with Amazon.

How to identify your rate card for Amazon shipping fees?

Follow the below steps to identify your Amazon rate card for shipping fees:

  • To identify your shipping fee, navigate to amazon.

  • Navigate to Pricing & fee > Types of fees. Here, you will see all the fees charged by Amazon for each business model.

  • Navigate to Fee rate cards > Weight handling fee > View the shipping rates.

  • Select the fee from the table and configure it in the Eshopbox workspace.

How to configure the fee in Eshopbox?

Navigate to Settings > Fees > Configure fee and follow the below steps:

Step I - Choose a sales channel

Select ‘Amazon’ from the drop-down and click continue.

Step II - Choose fee name

Select ‘Shipping fee’ from the drop-down and click continue.

Step III - Define fee applicability

  • Configure if the fee values defined are tax inclusive or not. Select yes, if the fee amount configured in fee rules is tax inclusive. Also, select the tax percentage applicable to the fees.

  • Select the condition based on which Amazon charge the fee. Configure this as - fee is charged when the order is shipped and reversed fully in case of a courier return.

Step IV - Set validity period

Select the validity period according to the time for which you are configuring fees:

  • Select ‘Definite’ if the fee is applicable for a specific time period. Here, you would have to select the start and end date for the fee.

  • Select ‘Indefinite’ if the fee is applicable indefinitely. Here, you will have to select only the start date for the fee.

Step V - Configure fee rules

The shipping fee depends on two condition field i.e. shipping zone and the shipment weight.

Configure the first fee rule (If condition):

  • Condition field: Select this as 'Shipping zone' from the drop-down.

  • Condition operator: Select ‘Is’ for this field.

  • Condition value: Select the shipping zone from the dropdown for which you want to configure the fee.

Configure the second fee rule: (If condition)

  • Click on '+' to add a new condition

  • Condition field: Select this as 'Weight range' from the drop-down.

  • Condition Operator: Select ‘Is’ for this field.

  • Condition value: Fill INR 'start weight value’ and ‘end weight value,’ where the start of the range is inclusive, and the end of the range is exclusive.

💡 In case there is no defined weight range is provided by Amazon, you can leave it blank or provide the maximum weight value.

Configure rule applicability (Then condition)

  • Apply Fees: Select ‘Flat Fee’ from the drop-down, enter the ‘shipping fee amount,' and then select 'Per Shipment’ from the drop-down.

After configuring this rule, click continue. You will be redirected to the Eshopbox workspace to upload the fee rules in bulk as shown below:

Click on the download fees button and read through the file to understand how to configure the fee rule in the CSV template. This sample file explains how to configure fee rules. Now, upload the CSV file and your shipping fees will be configured in Eshopbox. Eshopbox will now be able to calculate provisional fees and reconcile them against fees charged by Amazon.
