Introduction to Inward Consignment

Consignment is a batch of goods created for the movement of inventory. Inward consignment represents the inventory that you send to the Eshopbox. So, whenever you wish to send inventory to Eshopbox, you create inward consignment on Eshopbox workspace. In this article, you will learn how inward consignment works.

How does inward consignment works?

The below workflow will help you to understand how you send inventory to Eshopbox.

Here’s a quick breakdown of each of the steps to represent the flow:

  1. You create an inward consignment on the Eshopbox workspace when you want to send inventory to Eshopbox. You provide inventory movement details like to and from location with inventory details such as quantity, SKU, etc to create an inward consignment

  2. You schedule the consignment on the Eshopbox workspace to get an appointment for delivery. You select date and a time from the available slot.

  3. You deliver the consignment at the Eshopbox on the scheduled slot, following all the delivery guidelines of Eshopbox. In case you miss the slot, you reschedule the consignment to get new date and time.

  4. Eshopbox receives the consignment and performs a quality check on each product of the consignment. Performing a quality check is an optional step. In case your product doesn't pass the quality check criteria, Eshopbox rejects your product.

  5. Eshopbox marks the consignment as complete when Eshopbox receives all the products. You can also download an inward report for the consignment from the workspace.

  6. At times you may see that your consignment has failed at the time of creation. This could be due to one of the following reasons:
    - Products in your consignment have not been created in Eshopbox
    - Mandatory details were missing in the inward consignment template
    - Incorrect product details filled in the inward consignment template

  7. If have corrected all the details, you can retry to create a failed consignment.

  8. You can cancel the created or scheduled consignments. Consignments delivered to Eshopbox cannot be cancelled.
